Andrea + David *Wedding*

This wedding was extra fun because it took place on the 4th of July! And the energy matched the day perfectly!

I just loved Andrea's outlook on the day. We knew it was going to rain, the clouds were inevitable. So instead of pouting about it or stressing out about it (kinda like I did with snow on my wedding day) she just decided to go DANCE in it! She didn't care if her dress got muddy or her make-up ran... granted this was AFTER the ceremony... but STILL, how awesome is she?

The ceremony took place at Shove Chapel and the Reception was at... wait for it... wait for it... the ZOO!!!

    Bah! I LOVE it!

I didn't even know Cheyenne Mountain Zoo held wedding receptions, but I am so glad they do because it was the BEST reception place of the year! So fun and lively... with peacocks and chipmunks running around.

And to top it off... a fireworks show from the top of the mountain. SO perfect. What a great day to get married!

Thank you so much Andrea, David and families. What a wonderful group of people to work with.

    Camping and The Avett Brothers

Brian and I decided to get a way for a couple days and retreat to the glorious Rockies. We have these majesitc beauties in our backyard and only call upon them once a year for some relaxation... that will NOT happen next year I tell you!

It just so happened that one of our FAVORITE bands The Avett Brothers were playing a free concert in Steamboat Springs where it just so happened my brother was working for a week on a job... so of course we just so happened to go for a visit. :)

After the concert, we set up camp just outside of Rabbit Ears pass... I have NEVER seen so many stars in my life. It was almost supernatural.

The next morning we drove to Grand Lake and Rocky Mtn. National park. It felt so refreshing to return to my old stomping grounds after 8 years!

When I was younger, my family used to set up camp many summers in Grand Lake. I will never forget the countless times we drove over Trail Ridge (highest paved road in US) and my mother STILL freaked out and thought we were going to plummet off the side of the mountain... every time! (love you mom :)... but its true and you know it)

I felt I was sharing a part of myself and my life with Brian for the first time.

I wish I had a tripod so I could have taken the next two photos correctly but it still shows just how phenomenal the stars were that night.
