Many of you may not know that Brian, Louie and I have moved our lives to DENVER from Colorado Springs this summer.

There are many reasons as to why, but the short of it is that our businesses were pulling us into a bigger city with bigger potential. Also, my family stretches across Denver to Greeley and being closer to them was a must after 7 years of being 2 hours away. Now we can enjoy spontaneous dinners and Rockies games with my folks!

As I was preparing for the transition from city to city I began seeking out connections to other Denver wedding vendors and photographers. I didn't want to be alone, lost and overwhelmed in a much larger city and industry.

I ended up meeting with a wonderful woman and photographer, Vanessa Kruse with Flourish Studio Photography earlier this year. We began our friendship over a cup of coffee and were quickly blown away at how our pasts were connected, without even knowing it! Our past connections alone inspired a tie and sparked a friendship... we decided we were not only going to be shallow "industry friends" but decided to try our best at nourishing a true friendship in such a busy and competitive field, (Vanessa, I need to come see your new house... SOON! :)

During our first meeting Vanessa began speaking of this EXCEPTIONAL florist she knew. She RAVED about her.

At that point I really hadn't developed any loyalties to any specific florist, I had seen some great work in Colorado Springs but never made any connections (because I am going to admit right now that I am a horrible networker... I just like taking pictures)

When Vanessa mentioned Cori Cook Floral, my brain immediately reminded me of an email I received a year earlier from Cori Cook! We had previously tried connecting months and months before, with no success (again, bad networker, shame on me)

I remember truly loving Cori's style and was so thankful that another opportunity to meet Cori had presented itself!

The 3 of us ladies met a few weeks later and out of our meeting came the idea for the photoshoot below.

I LOVE working with these truly respectable and talented women, as well as hanging at eachother's houses, playing games, joking about our pasts, eating too much ice cream (Cori and Tex) and just living life together in AND outside of the wedding industry we are immersed in.

From our meetings and overall dreams for the Denver wedding industry we came up with the idea to produce the images below along with the incredible help of Ashley Summers at Table 6. Ashley is a true creative mind who took many of Vanessa, Cori and I's scattered ideas, organized them, added to them, and formed the shoot into a beautiful success. We couldn't have done it without her.

We came up with the literature theme to evoke a fairytale like dream... many people have mentioned how the shoot makes them think of Alice and Wonderland!

We also wanted to keep our shoot completely environmentally friendly seeing as more and more people are going that direction these days. So, all our florals were locally grown, our wedding dresses borrowed, our decor purchased from antique shops and our accessories handmade or borrowed.

I hope you all enjoy this post, and even more, I hope all the brides to be out there are truly INSPIRED to plan a remarkable event that is reflective of WHO YOU ARE!

Love this image... I also love that my vintage refurbished 1920's sofa makes an appearance (thanks dad for your hard restoration work)

I have been waiting for this post - when I saw the books hanging from the trees on the featured post, I knew this was going to be amazing! I absolutely LOVE all the vintage, antique details...and the bride was just stunning! I love how use the light to add such depth and dimension. Your wedding shoots never have the couple looking like cardboard cut-outs.

Your brother is very handsome! :)

(and, I'm crazy for your couch!)

O.K.- you and Brian moved to Denver, you "changed" your name to Audrey (I used to know you as Hannah) and I never really knew all that made you YOU!

You are amazing- creative like I don't understand. I'm sure glad you've settled into that "happy place" God made for you.

Blessings,

Russ Gordon

Audrey! I love this post. And even more than the fact that we made a beautiful photoshoot, I love our new friendship. You are a special girl and I am thankful for your friendship (:

Have fun in Ireland...next time can I come too?! Heh, heh!

Lovely! Very dreamy and vintage chic. Maybe you could consider doing a ultra mod, industrial feel. Something with lots of harsh edges that are softened with subtle curves here and there. A setting where the textures of the space do the decorating would be great for the budget-conscious bride. Beautiful work, Audrey!
