February 2 I always try to write a nice little somethin' somethin' as an introduction to the photos I post. I try to explain just how sweet, kind, genuine and awesome my clients tend to be. Really its the least I could do.
But what do you write about a friend? What do you write in a quick blog about someone who is more than a client or a face behind the lens? I feel like anything I write on this blog will not nearly be doing justice to how much I really enjoy this person's company or just how much history we share.
Allie was there before I was Audrey Brooks- photographer. She was there before Brian and she was there before I had traveled the world, she was there during my first break-up, and there to brave the hurt and pain afterwards, she was there when I drove a Chevy caprice and worked at a Cracker Barrell to pay the bills, she was there when what I did on my days off was paint or write songs, or sing, she was there when I was lonely and searching....she was there when I was just another girl in Colorado Springs trying to find herself.
We were roommates to be exact. Roommates trying to find our place in the world living in a house on Cedar street.
Allie was never much into talking about weddings, crushes, romance and such. She carried a confidence about her when it came to waiting for the right guy to come along. She did not have crushes often and even if she did she would never relent in telling anyone- well at least not me. She didn't join in to the "lets look at wedding magazines and plan our future weddings" conversations or lend her opinion to how many kids she wanted one day. She simply focused on loving people and making friends and living life here in Colorado Springs seemingly without worry about who or what her future would bring. All of us roommates would tease her in a fun way and tell her that she would probably be the last one of us to get married because she just wasn't hoping as hard as some of us were.
Well... weren't we wrong!
And so it begun... Allie moved back to Loveland CO after a few years living in the Springs to be with her family and pour herself into serving her home church. Little did she know that her friends "little" brother didn't just stay little over the 4 or so years that had passed since she had been back. Enter Aaron. They had know each other for quite a while seeing as Allie and Aaron's sister had been good friends. The funny thing is that Aaron always had a crush on Allie when he was younger but it was all mainly a fun joke shared by their families because Aaron was too young to win her heart at the time. After Aaron returned from his first year in the Navy "all growed up" Allie began to notice him, and Aarons feelings for her really never left.
All of Allie's patient and calm waiting had payed off. Call it fate, destiny, or just a sexy sailor suite... they are now planning to spend the rest of their lives loving one another... and that is the beginning of their happily ever after....
Love you Allie, marriage is more fulfilling and adventurous than you could have ever imagined!
